Amazing Snack From Maninjau Lake ... Pensi

All journeys have secret destinations that you've never know the secretness




A secret will never know if you never wanted to know the question of the secret. Including one of which is the typical food of the places. I like to try new things that I never tried before. I'm crazy to try of this typical food. Pensi. Have you ever heard of this food ?. Its so unique. 



It's so special from West Sumatra, it called with "Pensi". You could reach below snack particularly the area around the Maninjau lake. Pensi is a small scallop and processed as snacks. It cooked as a snack with its shell. Usually, people would rather make Pensi as snacks as more efficient in the process and have a sale value. 

The fishermen caught the scallop from the lake bottom using tangguak (tangguk). Catch is done from the top of a traditional canoe. Arrests are usually done after dawn until the sun began to appear, then the results can be immediately brought to the market to sell the fresh. 

Pensi processed in a simple way that is soaked in water to remove the dirt during the arrest. It cooked with hot water and then drained. Next processing of Pensi can be added then cooking the basic ingredients of onion, celery, ginger, and salt to taste in this dish ..

It need much struggle to eat Pensi, you should open the shells one by one at a time or a bite it with your teeth then find small clam and ready to eat. 

Pensi sold for Rp.3000 in a glass as its measure. Cheap and unique food. Then, you should try it. Interested ?. I said, you should try. Its an amazing snack from Maninjau Lake ... Pensi.
