A Road to Bama Beach

You will never get bored when visiting a new place and deserves to be explored more. Your curiosity will be satisfied if you are able to see the beauty of it's own with your own eyes not only of other people's stories. A trip itself will starts from a single step and an intention to explore the huge horizon.

Baluran National Park is famous for its natural scenery that makes you feel being in the African savanna. Real wildlife, but have you know, that Baluran also has a beautiful beach in it ?.

An area of 25,000 hectares has a variety of ecosystems, ranging from forests to the ocean. During this Baluran visited by tourists who want to feel the African in Java. Apparently Baluran National park charm not only on land but also at sea. Baluran has several beaches one of which is Bama Beach. Bama is located 16 km from the entrance or 3 Km from Padang Bekol.

Bama beach is located in east area, in Baluran National Park area. Here, you can see the original and virgin beach with its amazing scenery. There is a forest near the beach that you can explore on foot or riding a bike. The forest already has its own track and driving directions, so you can walk without fear of lost. But, the road is damaged now. During walking to the beach Bama, you are finding some animals, such as pheasant, deer, monkeys, butterflies also. There was a buffalo bull but these are very few (now only 22 species) and mostly hiding in the mountains, undetected. But, once you close to the forest, you also can see mangrove forest, Bama spring and Mantingan spring. Bama beach has a long coastline with a garnish of some mangroves and there is a beautiful black rock formations. One of special moment here is that you can see monkey with the long tail (Macaca fascicularis) that fishing crabs with their long tail.

While you're in Bama Beach, you can enjoy the beach with white sand and calm waves. There is a row of mangrove trees with stand the waves so you can be more fun to play on the beach. The water was refreshing blue, makes you want to jump straight to it. Unfortunately while I was at the Bama beach, the water was receding due to dry season. But I could still see the sparklings.

Like as other beach, Bama beach has own beauty. There are a variety of colorful fish swerving between corals and anemones. One of the fish that you will often encounter is a clown fish or better known as nemo fish. Other that, I saw a pelicans also in this beach.

This beach also equipped with tourism facilities, such as hotels, restaurants, and some of food merchants. Other facilities such as toilets are also available at the Bama beach but poor condition and poorly maintained.

Other than that, Bama also there is a line that divides the Mangrove Trail mangroves around the coast, through the mangrove trail you can see wildlife such as monkeys gray long tail around Bama, there are also some gazebo to enjoy the sea view from the edge. Or else you could walk follow the line and watch the bird in to the forest. So, from here you can not only see the savanna, but also can see the beach and swim in it. Interested ?.

Many miles could crossed and explored for your journey but it will start from one step.

Have a great travelling and create your own journey.
